Bulgaria situated at the crossroads of the East and West, Bulgaria has been home to many civilizations. The country is rich in tourist sights and historical artifacts, scattered through a relatively small and easily accessible territory. it is internationally known for its seaside and winter resorts. Best time to visit during Summer June to September or Winter December to March.  

Day 1
Arrive in Sofia, Bulgaria

Departure from your home town, flight to land in  Sofia (SOF), capital of Bulgaria.  

Upon arrival, transfer to check in at hotel.

Free & overnight.   

Day 2
Sofia

Breakfast at hotel. Morning pick up at hotel. Start a half day visit to the capital city of Sofia.

Explore the compact city center, discover the real and authentic soul of Sofia, a bustling city with east-meets-west contrasts. It is one of the oldest settlements in Europe with impressive history and modern look.
The day starts with a short transfer to the National History Museum, occupying the residency of the former communist ruler Todor Zhivkov, located at the outskirts of Sofia. We'll have a guided tour of the rich museum collection, with special attention drawn to the key dates, facts and exhibits.
Close by is the Boyana Church (UNESCO), which we will visit to unravel the global importance of its proto-Renaissance frescoes, dating back to the 10th century, which has unique and very well preserved fresc.
The afternoon will be for a gentle walking tour of the center, where you will learn about the National Library, Sofia University, The Parliament, The St. Alexander Nevsky Patriarchal Cathedral, the National Theatre, St. Sofia Church, Sofia's oldest building - St George Rotunda, The houses of the Council of Ministers, presidency and the former communist party headquarters, the ruins of the ancient city of Serdika (dating from the 5th-6th C), the National Palace of Culture, the main shopping streets of Sofia etc.

After sightseeing, back to hotel. Free and overnight. Lunch & Dinner on guest own account.

Day 3
Sofia – Plovdiv

Breakfast at hotel. Transfer for about 2-hours drive to visit Plovdiv. It is one of the oldest settlements in the world, having emerged on the three adjacent hills – the beginning of its history dates back to 4,000 years BC. It has preserved Thracian, Roman and Bulgarian heritage from different epochs.
In Plovdiv there will be a 2 hour guided walking tour in the heart of the town and will learn lots of historical facts and legends while exploring its most interesting sightseeing places- see the Roman Theater and parts of the Roman Stadium. Walk through the longest pedestrian street in Europe. Explore the magnificent Revival old town with its unique colorful houses from the 19th century. After it, we'll have about 2 hours free time for lunch and some shopping and then you will depart back to Sofia. 

After sightseeing, back to hotel. Free and overnight. Lunch & Dinner on guest own account.

Day 4
Sofia - Belgradchik Rocks and Fortress

Breakfast at hotel. Travel for about 3 hours to the Belgradchik Rocks. The western slopes of the Balkan Mountains in Bulgaria are home to a bizarre rock formation which has fascinated and intrigues both locals and visitors alike for thousands of years. Often reaching several hundred meters in height they vary in shade, as to the many legends which surround them. What makes the place even more interesting is the location of the fortress, set within the rock formation. The Belogradchik rocks form a 3 km wide and 30-kilometre long strip, and the rock formations reach some 200 meters in height. They have formed at the bottom of a sea as the product of compression some 230 million years ago and then erosion over the last 45 million years. The rocks, made largely of limestone, also hold hundreds of caves. Each one comes with a story. Each rock formation bears a name: Adam and Eve, The Schoolgirl, The Bear, The Shepherd boy, The Dervish, The First slab stone, The Camel, The Mushrooms, The Cuckoo, The Red wall, The Madonna, The Horseman, The Monks, The Mental stone, Rebel Velko, The Pine stone and so on. The fortress next to the rocks was built in the Middle Ages with an aim to control the road going from Sofia to the Danube..

Day 5
Sofia – Koprivshtitsa

Breakfast at hotel. Visit to the charming town of Koprivshtitsa, with its fascinating history and authentic 19th-century architecture. Spend the day at leisure in this small and picturesque town situated in Central Bulgaria among the slopes of "Stara Planina" Mountain that carries a specific spirit of tranquillity and eternity. Inside the houses - museums from the National Revival Period you will explore works of art, fine fretwork, household weaves and embroidery, national costumes and typical Bulgarian jewelry as well as authentic furniture from 150 years ago.
Learn about the dramatic Bulgarian History from your professional guide and get the chance to visit the original houses of the heroes of the April Uprising. The guided tour in the village is about 2 hours. After it you will also have free time for lunch (included just if you chose this option) in a traditional local restaurant.

Day 6
Sofia return home

Breakfast at hotel.  Check out.

Transfer to Sofia Int’l airport, board the flight return to your hometown.
